Repeat Prescriptions (updated 19.2.2024)

Under the instruction of the GP Partners, we are unable to take requests for medication over the telephone

We have been reviewing options on how a patient can order their regular repeat medication.  We can now offer the following options:

  1. Continue to order via your nominated Pharmacy
  2. Pop your repeat slip into one of our prescription boxes outside the practice premises
  3. Patients who were registered with MHOL need to change to the NHS App and be aged 16 and above.

You cannot request items that are not on your regular repeat list via NHS APP

Once we have received your prescription request via NHS app it will be processed within 72 hours and sent to your nominated pharmacy ( 5 days if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope for us to post it to you).

You can email queries to the following email address and you will receive a reply within 5 working days: enquiries.oldschoolsurgery@wales.nhs.uk

Please allow 72 hours for all prescription requests, this will include the requests that come via your nominated chemist.

My Health Online (MHOL) replaced by NHS App

The MHOL service ended on 31st December 2023.

If you already have access to this service you need to switch to the NHS Wales App.

If you would like access to the NHS Wales App, please contact us as we will need to enrol you.

Please note the NHS App is only available to patients aged 16 and above.

Medication Reviews

We review your medication on a regular basis.  A medication review will enable us to make sure that you are taking what you need. It is also an opportunity to review your medical condition(s).

If we can see that you are due a review we will ask you to book an apppointment with our Practice Pharmacist, Joanne Pritchard (you will be contacted by text message or letter)

If you have an appointment with a doctor and you know that your medication needs to be reviewed soon, please discuss this with the doctor involved. This may avoid you having to make another appointment simply for a medication review.
